I was 24 and surrounded by people I love dearly, I married my soulmate. I really cannot wrap my head around it being ten years ago! I can tell you that marriage has really been a lot harder than I ever anticipated, but it has taught me so much. Being an Army wife can up the challenge factor. I really would not have it any other way. I'm proud of where we've come to in our marriage. I can really, honestly say that I love this man more now than I did when I walked down the aisle. No, it's not always that butterflies in the stomach love, although sometimes he still does envoke that feeling. It's more a consistent friendship and admiration. I often think (I know it's sappy, please feel free to leave now) of that Shania Twain song where she sings, "Looks like we made it, look how far we've come..."
I know now:
The Seven Year Itch can really exist.
"Honey I don't care I ain't in love with your hair
and if it all fell out well i'd love you anyway." ~Randy Travis
(It did all fall out & I love him anyway).
Don't sweat the small stuff (& a lot of it is small stuff).
I know God has far more lessons in store for us & I'm looking forward to the journey He has in store for us.
