Ron just left this morning for a week in Korea. Some of you all know we may be making the Land of the Morning Calm our home by the Fall. Ron is on his way to kind of smooth the way for his soldiers. His absence takes some getting used to when he hasn't been gone in awhile. It can be a little unsettling at first. I really should lay off the caffeine, I think.
It's crazy hot here in Central Texas. It's making getting out and about a little difficult unless it includes water or lots of shade. Isabella is heat sensitive- she gets very red and overheated when we're in the sun for any longer than a couple minutes. When we got here in the Spring it was absolutely gorgeous, green everywhere. Now it's quite crispy. This definitely makes for a good time to homeschool. While in Colorado we were very much inside in the winter, here it's quite the opposite. We just got our curriculum for the fall, so I'm feeling a big need to finish up what we've done this past year. We slacked off some because of the move. The upcoming move (regardless of whether we are approved to Korea or not, we'll be moving) will probably cause a bit of a pause in class time, too.
I'll be busy cleaning up the house this week in preparation for a trip from my mother-in-law in the coming month. The kids are excited to see her as we've not visited for about two years. Hopefully the cleaning will help the week pass quickly.
What do you do to help time pass when your significant other is gone?

Wow, Tina, that would be quite the move. I'll be praying for you:) James isn't gone often, but when he is I definitely seem to scrap even more and just focus on having fun with the kids. I'll tell you this, good eating habits go out the window *lol* not that I'm suggesting you do that;) Praying for his safe return. Hugs to you..
Well, it's hot and humid here right now, but with Jim gone to NTC we are spending a lot of time outside. That and I have been finding lots of house projects to keep me busy. I've cleaned out the garage, taken down the swing set, and had a yard sale. Lol, Jim's only been gone a week as of now. I'm not sure I'll find enough things to occupy the next 3 weeks. . .sigh. . .
