What's on the menu today?

We were lucky enough to get tickets for Popejoy's Schooltime Performance of Lula Washington's Reflections in Black. Here's a synopsis...

Recently seen on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, this company takes us on an unforgettable journey through the Underground Railroad with Harriet Tubman; to the first day of school for the Little Rock Nine; to the bus ride of Rosa Parks and on to the election of the first African-American president, Barack Obama. Along the way, the audience will learn different dance styles, from ballet to hip hop and they will be invited up on stage to travel with the dancers from slavery to freedom. Ms. Washington was voted the National Education Association's 2007 Carter G. Woodson Civil Rights Award."
