Hi, my name is Tina and I am a hermit...

I don't know if it's the time of year or an imbalance of chemicals in my body, but I have the deep need to be alone. Well, alone as I can be as a homeschooling, stay at home mom. I'm a normally recluse person, an antisocial former social worker. After having my children I broke myself out of the mold so they wouldn't end up unsocialized. Gasp, there's that word! I love that with homeschooling you can have that freedom of never leaving the house if you don't want to, never leaving your pajamas if you don't want to. Maybe I'm just prone to hibernation when the days get shorter. Or, maybe, I just want to bum around in velour jogging pants in Uggs and not brush my teeth for the day. Tim Gunn would not approve. Whatever it might be, I think there's a very healthy place in having solitary time, so I'm going to revel in it for awhile and not fight it.

Yet another thing we have in common

I absolutely MUST have ample solitary time each day. I do enjoy being around people, but I have a limit. Fortunately, 2/3rds of my kids are like that, too. My youngest would like to be around people 24/7.

Oh, Tina! I thought I was the only one. Maybe that is why I haven't had you over lately, even though I have been wanting to. Today was definitely a jogging outfit day for me. :) We have to get together soon.

The first point in my pastor's sermon yesterday was about learning to make the most of solitude! :) Definitely a must for everyone, but I think you're right...this time of year I tend to want to be at home more.
