E-I-E-I-O

We've been farming...ants, that is. This past week I watched C terrorize the ant pile in the lot across from our house. Then I got the "fab" idea to create an ant farm. Maybe then he would be fascinated with them instead of bombarding their home with large rocks. We had an ant farm about 4 years ago. You know the one where you order ants? For some reason I just figured those were the only ants you could use for an ant farm. Sorry, I'm just not operating on all cylinders, folks ;)Bella was way too young to remember. She needs a solid ant farm childhood memory, too. After perusing the Internet, I found these directions. I didn't follow the fancy directions to acquire the ants, I just used a stick. But here's our farm...

You put a small jar upside down in the center so the ants don't build their nest in the center where you can't see.

My kids are fascinated with it. It's been a lot of fun, and C isn't marauding the ant hill anymore.

ONE WEEK AND FOUR DAYS!!! Hope those abs are working out for ya!

And I love the ant farm idea. My sister got us an ant farm from the dollar spot at Target. They make their tunnels in some gel stuff, it's pretty cool. Today her son opened their ant farm up and let all of the ants out. I have been laughing ever since.

Just checking the days! (Apparently my memory has left the building as it is one day since I left the ONE WEEK AND FOUR DAYS comment...)

Can you become senile in your 30's???

Have a great weekend. Only one more weekend!

It's fascinating indeed. Might as well try ant farming one of these days.
