Karate Kid a la Chinese

I am a child of the 80s. We watched The Goonies, Back to the Future, and Karate Kid. So, when I saw that a remake of Karate Kid was coming about, I totally wanted to see it with my kids. You know, do one of those, "When Mommy was a kid, the Karate Kid wore stonewashed jeans." Throw in Jayden Smith, seriously how cute is he?! Add a little Jackie Chan & Chinese influence, what can I say they're my peeps. I'm totally in. Only, I was not prepared what an incredible movie this is. In my very humble, and non cinematic experience, it was better than the Mr. Miyagi version. It is beautifully, beautifully done. Yes, there's a lot of bootie kicking going on. Yes, you'll gasp when the kids throw each other around. But you'll also be encouraged by seeing the hard work and determination of young Jayden. You'll see a different Jackie Chan, one that's a little broken, but triumphant. So, if you need to take the kiddos to a matinee to beat the heat, take them to this one. You won't be sorry you did.

I was wondering if it would live up to the older versions. Thanks for the insight.
