I've been AWOL on the Friday Flower Front. I had a very busy summer: camp, swimming lessons, launching all out war on squash bugs {I lost :(}. So here, at summer's end, I share with you some blooms.
I bought these seeds at our local co-op. I've seen them here & there at natural food stores. Bought 'em on a whim...
Okay not on a whim. I confess I was attracted to the prospect of feeding my local songbirds for a lot less & having pretty flowers in the interim. This seed packet was less than a similar seed packet I found at an ahem... mass hardware store. Not only that, it was chock full of seed. I can't say the same about the mass produced seed. Well, the proof was in the pudding as they say. I was welcomed with an OVERWHELMING sprouting of seeds from the Botanical Interests seed, in less than a week. I was even able to transplant many of the seedlings to my backyard with little issue. I got nothing... let me repeat... NOTHING... from the competitor seed. I'll be a repeat customer.
Here are my colorful, recently harvested seed from my crop. Now, there is seed here not from Botanical Interests. You can't really see them but there are Morning Glory seeds in there. I've had to say "sayonara" to my morning glories as my trusty dog has decided to "water" them for me. Thanks, Dex. Grrrr...
The most important flowers of my Friday are these glowing faces from Bella's Daisy Scout Troop. Aren't they a lovely lot of daisies?
