since i've been gone & a vintage Easter image

No, I've not been here in awhile. It's not that I haven't thought of my blog, it's that I didn't think I had anything to type that would be of any interest to you all. Yes, we've been homeschooling. Yes, we've been yearning for our soldier Daddy. Yes, we've been here.

I think part of my absence has been because of an accident. Yes, an accident. In late March, I was in a car accident. Praise God my children weren't present, but it was a big one. I'm not prone to traffic accidents, I'm normally anal when it comes to traffic laws. This night I was sadly distracted. I was driving home after I had asked my dad to watch my babes for a bit. The light was green for both north and south traffic. I was facing north hoping to turn left. I thought I had enough time to turn, but I didn't. My north facing vehicle was now facing east. The young ladies in the vehicle once facing south were now facing west. Their airbags deployed. It was quite traumatic. All in all it was my fault for not yielding to their oncoming vehicle. The imact of the cars left one of the girls with a goose egg and a sore on her leg. The other (driver) seemed fine. We were all very, very shaken. I praise my Lord God in Heaven that not one of us were severely injured. At the same time, I'm still in quite a shock at times during the day, when I least expect it, to see the accident scene in my mind and it stuns me.

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger...

In celebration of new beginnings and forgiveness for the old, I thought I'd offer this image. I accompanied my best friend to a conference in a mountain resort of New Mexico last year. I hung out with her lovely babes for a bit while whe attended a conference. Generously, she offered to watch my babes for awhile while I perused an antique fair in the nearby convention center. This was one of my finds. It was marked down for it's flaws ~ wrinkles, missing pieces. I thought it beautiful nonetheless. I love the colors the hope despite the damage. Coincidental, yes?

As far as I know this image is public domain, so please use this image as you wish in your Eastertide projects. Please share your project{s} should you have the chance.

Thank goodness you're all right, Tina. It makes perfect sense that you are trying to adjust to something so traumatic. I was in one as a passenger when I was 15, and now even 18 years later I still have flash backs or PTSD if you will. Hang in there and be kind to yourself.
