bittersweet bliss

No, I haven't been abducted by aliens. Although, we've been watching enough SciFi as of late to make me think it's a possibility. I'm in the midst of enjoying time with my soldier and my munchkins. He's home for a lovely 15 days as of the 3rd. Amongst our adventures, included time in Salem, Oregon, with my soldier's family. His father made a trip from Guam, something he hasn't done in 16 years. All the Q brothers and sisters were present for this lovely trip.

The bittersweet element to this post is the passing of my Grandpa Mike. He was 92 years old when he passed on the 4th of July. He's not my biological grandfather, but he was my grandpa just the same. I was three when my grandma married him. At his viewing, my uncle asked me when was it that I had met "Mike." I have the privilege of saying I don't remember NOT knowing him. He always showed integrity, intelligence, and kindness to everyone. We will miss him dearly.

I hope you all are enjoying your summer! I hope I can get some cutting & pasting done soon, in the meantime you'll find me loving on my family.
