where we learn

This is our new school spot. It's working out quite well for us. My former school spot became our computer/craft/play room. We live in a little 2 bedroom house while my soldier is gone. The house is so quaint with it's hardwood floors and lovely moulding. It is, however, tiny. So, one room has to serve many purposes. For example, our schoolroom is our dining room as well. We have a whiteboard for our All About Spelling and other lessons (the one up there in the picture is Rod and Staff English). We have all kinds of maps, a calendar (mainly for Bella). A drawer organizer holds craft supplies the kids can access at their whim. The shelf in the corner under the very appropriate "Pray" sign holds C's stuff on one shelf & B's stuff on another, along with MUS manipulatives and HWOT gadgets. This isn't our first schoolroom, we've had two others since we've started HS'ing as a military family. We also consider a multitude of other places appropriate for schooltime. The couch is a great spot for reading. The Rio Grande Nature Center is a great area for science & nature study. Thanks for visiting with us! I look forward to visiting your spots as well. :)

Very nice! We had ours in the dining room, but recently moved it to a little room we are working on in the garage. Not quite finished yet... still have to paint a wall, put chalkboard paint up on another wall, and finish some flooring, but we started getting set up in there anyway so I can pull out all our stuff and get organized. :)

Very nice. It looks simple and well organized. I like that. I feel overwhelmed with clutter. Can't wait to read more!

God Bless your soldier. I will keep him in my prayers.
